Maha Shivaratri

Grand all-night celebration with special abhishekam to the Chaturmukha Lingeshwara, thousands of lamps illuminating the caves, devotional music, and a massive gathering of devotees from across Karnataka and beyond.

Masa Shivaratri

Special monthly observance on each Shivaratri throughout the year. Devotees gather for special abhishekam, rudrabhishekam, and extended prayer sessions in the cave sanctum dedicated to Lord Shiva.

November / December

Karthika Pournami

Full moon celebration with deep jyothi (sacred lamp lighting), creating a breathtaking spectacle as hundreds of lamps light up the cave temple complex. Special poojas and cultural programs mark this auspicious occasion.

Girija Kalyanam

The divine marriage ceremony of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, celebrated with elaborate rituals in the specially dedicated Girija Kalyana cave hall. This grand event re-enacts the celestial wedding with traditional Vedic ceremonies.

August / September

Vinayaka Chaturthi

Special prayers and elaborate festivities dedicated to Vallabha Ganapathi, one of the presiding deities of the cave temple. The celebrations include special abhishekam, modaka offerings, and cultural programs.

Significance: Birthday of Lord Ganesha, remover of obstacles

September / October

Navaratri

Nine nights of Goddess worship at the Jagadambe shrine within the cave temple. Each night features special alankaram, poojas, and bhajans dedicated to the different forms of the Divine Mother.

Sankashti Chaturthi

Monthly special Ganapathi Homam performed with traditional fire rituals. Devotees observe a day-long fast and participate in special evening poojas and the homam ceremony dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
